The Alliance supports new local organizations with their 501c3 formation documents, membership recruiting, and active participation.

The Alliance supports local organizations’ advocacy initiatives through an active and experienced NPKUA Advocacy Committee and the NPKUA Executive Director.

The Alliance supports local organizations’ fund-raising initiatives with it’s Funding Committee, best practices in fund-raising events, annual distribution of t-shirts to sell at fund-raising events and consolidating research donations from all local organizations thereby multiplying the power of funds raised. The NPKUA’s independent Scientific Advisory Board peer reviews PKU research proposals and recommends the awarding of grants to the most promising research each year.

The Alliance’s Board members include a representative from each local organization. Therefore, the local organizations set policy and strategy for the NPKUA.
