We were so proud to recognize Amy Oliver as this year’s PKU Hero during NPKUA’s community conference weekend in Lombard, IL.
The PKU Hero Award recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the PKU community through advocacy, leadership, volunteerism, research or other meaningful service.
For nearly two decades, Amy has been a dedicated advocate and champion for the PKU community. Inspired by her children, Claire and Seth, she has fought to protect access to medical formula, helped advance lasting policy change in Utah, supported newly diagnosed families and advocated for the Medical Foods and Formulas Access Act for more than 15 years.
As a co-founder of Intermountain PKU and Allied Disorders Association, Amy has spent countless hours supporting the PKU community across six states. She also served on NPKUA’s Board for many years, including as Board President.
Through her leadership, advocacy and service, Amy has made a lasting impact on our PKU community and helped create a stronger path forward for those who will come after her.
