Meet Kelci, one of our NPKUA mentors!
Kelci is a middle school teacher living in Western Washington with her husband and their two children. Both of Kelci’s children, ages 2½ and 4, have PKU and currently attend daycare.
Some of Kelci’s favorite parts of mentoring are connecting with families who are new to the PKU journey, supporting those whose children are starting solids and helping families build community. She especially loves helping parents gain confidence with low-protein foods and feeding young children.
“Finding foods that work, navigating daycare and managing everyday meals can feel overwhelming at first,” Kelci says, “I’m happy to share what has worked for our family and brainstorm other ideas.”
Kelci also values the relationships and support that come from being part of the PKU community. “Some of the most helpful moments for me as a parent have come from connecting with other families who simply understood what life with PKU looks like. Whether you’re looking for meal ideas, practical support or just someone who gets the day-to-day realities of raising a child with PKU, I’d love to connect!”
