Leave a Lasting Legacy for the PKU Community
By including NPKUA in your will or living trust, you can make a lasting impact on PKU research, care and community support — while continuing to put your loved ones first.
One of the simplest ways to do this is through a Charitable Bequest.
Why a Charitable Bequest?
- Simple – Just a few sentences in your will or trust
- Flexible – You can change your plans at any time
- Versatile – Leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or other assets
- Tax-Smart – Your estate may qualify for a charitable tax deduction
Sample Bequest Language
“I give to the National PKU Alliance (NPKUA), a nonprofit organization with Tax ID 26-2849140, [written amount or percentage of the estate], income and principal to be applied in its discretion for its general uses and purposes.”
If you would like to restrict your gift to a particular purpose, please contact Catherine Warren, Executive Director of NPKUA, to discuss appropriate language.
Restricted gifts should include the following sentence: “If at any time it becomes impractical to apply this gift as I have directed, NPKUA shall have the discretion to apply this gift to other needs identified by NPKUA which conform as closely as possible to my intent.”
Putting Your Family First
Many supporters choose to leave a percentage of their estate, allowing their gift to remain proportional as circumstances change and ensuring loved ones are cared for first.
